Description

Eiden Systems Consulting (ESC) is seeking a Senior Application Programmer – Appian / Low-Code who holds an active Secret clearance to serve as a technical leader on a sustainment-focused application development effort. The Senior Application Programmer will serve in a Development Lead, Sustainment Lead, or Sustainment Subject Matter Expert (SME) capacity. This position requires strong experience with sustainment lifecycle management, low-code application development, business process automation, and enterprise database environments. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with the Appian platform, BPMN-based process automation, APIs, Oracle, data modeling, and Agile/hybrid development methodologies, along with the ability to provide technical direction and support complex application development and sustainment activities. This is primarily a remote position with periodic on-site support required at Fort Belvoir, VA, or other locations within the National Capital Region (NCR).

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as a Development Lead, Sustainment Lead, or Sustainment SME.
  • Provide expert-level knowledge of sustainment lifecycle management activities supporting programs and project operations.
  • Analyze functional business applications and detailed design specifications for functional areas including finance, accounting, personnel, manpower, logistics, and contracts.
  • Design application architecture, block diagrams, logic flowcharts, and software solutions based on functional and technical requirements.
  • Translate detailed application designs into functional computer software.
  • Design, develop, code, test, debug, troubleshoot, and refine software applications.
  • Develop and enhance low-code/no-code applications and business process automation solutions.
  • Develop application and process automation software based on BPMN models.
  • Integrate applications and low-code platforms through APIs and other system interfaces.
  • Prepare and maintain program-level and user-level technical documentation.
  • Identify opportunities to enhance applications, reduce operating time, improve efficiency, and optimize system performance.
  • Provide technical direction and mentoring to programmers as required to meet program schedules and development objectives.
  • Develop or modify procedures to resolve complex application and software problems while considering system capacity, processing requirements, operating constraints, and desired results.
  • Support application sustainment, enhancements, troubleshooting, and lifecycle management activities.
  • Collaborate with functional users, technical teams, project leadership, and other stakeholders to deliver reliable application solutions.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • 10+ years of relevant professional experience.
  • Active Secret clearance (IT-II) required.
  • IAT Level II certification required, or relevant certification from a nationally recognized technical authority preferred/required as applicable to the program.
  • Expert-level knowledge and experience with sustainment lifecycle management activities supporting programs and project operations.
  • Experience with Appian or comparable Low-Code/No-Code development platforms.
  • Experience using BPMN (Business Process Model and Notation) tools.
  • Experience developing application and business process automation software based on BPMN models.
  • Experience with APIs supporting Low-Code/No-Code application and platform integrations.
  • Experience developing applications using Agile and hybrid low-code development methodologies.
  • Experience serving as an application programmer in large-scale database management system (DBMS) environments.
  • Experience with Oracle databases and data modeling.
  • Strong understanding of software development, testing, debugging, troubleshooting, and application sustainment.
  • Ability to analyze complex technical requirements and translate them into effective software solutions.
  • Ability to provide technical direction and guidance to other developers.
