Summary
Title:Network Architect
ID:173
Location:Chantilly, VA
Description

Eiden Systems Consulting (ESC) is seeking a Network Architect to lead the design and evolution of secure, resilient network infrastructures supporting mission-critical national security programs. This is a high-impact role for a senior engineer who thrives in complex, classified environments and wants to directly influence how mission systems are architected, secured, and deployed. This will be an onsite role with occasional travel required.

You will own the end-to-end network architecture lifecycle—from early-stage concept design and requirements shaping to deployment of high-availability, hardened solutions operating in contested and disconnected environments.

What You’ll Do:

Lead Architecture & Design-

  • Design and implement scalable LAN/WAN/WLAN architectures and high-capacity backhaul solutions
  • Translate mission requirements into secure, resilient network designs across multi-enclave environments

Build Resilient Infrastructure-

  • Develop redundant, fault-tolerant network frameworks with COOP/DR strategies to ensure mission continuity
  • Architect solutions for high-availability operations in degraded or denied environments

Engineer Advanced Transport Solutions-

  • Design and integrate multi-layer transport systems including SATCOM, LTE/5G, and Line-of-Sight (LoS)
  • Enable reliable connectivity across austere and contested operational environments

Drive Security Architecture-

  • Implement Zero Trust Architecture (ZTA) principles across enterprise networks
  • Design and support Cross-Domain Solutions (CDS) for secure data transfer between classification levels
  • Architect secure communication pathways using Type 1 encryption, VPNs, and DMVPN

Provide Technical Leadership-

  • Serve as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for routing and switching (Cisco/Juniper)
  • Guide engineering teams, troubleshoot complex enterprise issues, and influence technical direction

Document & Standardize-

  • Produce high-fidelity network diagrams, architecture artifacts, and configuration baselines
  • Establish IP address management (IPAM) strategies for classified environments

Required Qualifications:

  • Active Top Secret (TS) clearance (TS/SCI preferred)
  • 10+ years of experience in network engineering, with demonstrated success in architecture or technical leadership roles
  • Deep expertise in Cisco and/or Juniper routing and switching
  • Proven experience designing high-availability, redundant network systems
  • Strong experience with network monitoring and analysis tools (e.g., Wireshark, SolarWinds, Cisco DNA Center)

Preferred Experience:

  • Familiarity with RMF and NIST 800-53 security controls
  • Experience designing for air-gapped or disconnected environments
  • Background supporting DoD, IC, or mission-focused R&D programs
  • Experience working in multi-level security (MLS) environments
